JAMES RAMEY (Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Film Studies, University of California, Berkeley), is Professor of Humanities at the Metropolitan Autonomous University-Cuajimalpa (UAM-C) in Mexico City. He is a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers; his last two books are the edited volumes Mexican Transnational Cinema and Literature (2017), and México imaginado: Nuevos enfoques sobre el cine (trans)nacional (2011). He executive produced the award-winning documentary Echo of the Mountain (Nicolás Echevarría, 2014) and has directed and produced documentary shorts. He has won various prizes for his work as a researcher, teacher and filmmaker.

 

 

ARTURO PIMENTEL (B.A. in Communication Sciences, Autonomous University of Guadalajara), is from Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, México. He began his professional career in radio production and public relations, and later worked in publicity and as a creative director and director of TV commercials. He specialized in screenwriting, directing and producing, and has taught at universities in Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Morelia. He has produced several feature films, with directors Beto Gómez, Alex Quiroga, and Juan Pablo Arroyo Abraham; and he directed a documentary short.
